Responsibilities:

• Non-Routine: unknown sample, particular studies, chemicals quality verification (and compatibility) and corrosion testing (coupon testing, microscope observation and electrochemical testing, with exclusion of metallurgy testing; Provides on received samples either simple testing (qualitative and quantitative), either complex instrumental analysis, by following the method procedures and WI;
• Involves, participates and performs special study laboratory analysis of corrosion products, unknown deposits, chemical performance evaluation, including report preparation;
• Hydrocarbon testing : raw materials, process fluids, and finished prod (oil/ Gas/ Sulphur);
Provides on received sample either simple testing (such as determination of Density, Water content, Flash point, Cloud point, etc), either/and;
• Involves, participates and performs operation of complex instrumental analyses such as Gas Chromatography (GC) and other techniques, for performing compositional analysis of Natural gas, Crude oil and Petroleum products, (Sulphur - compounds in hydrocarbons fluids inclusive), Sulphur by following the analytical standard methods & procedures/WI;
• Water & Environmental Testing: water, water based samples;
Involves, participates and performs operation of complex instrumental analyses such as determination of elements in water by using AAS, ICP AES, etc., as well as simple testing such as pH, Conductivity, Turbidity, Hardness, Alkalinity, etc. by following the analytical standard methods & procedures/WI
Requirements:
• University / High school degree in Chemistry (or equivalent) or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in industrial chemical laboratory, preferable in the oil and gas industry;
• Knowledge in international and RoK state standard test procedures such as GOST, ASTM, UOP, ISO, etc.;
• Comprehensive knowledge and extended experience in production chemistry laboratory analyses and testing (flow assurance, well fluids testing, crude oil, gas and by-products processing and treatment);
• Experience on quality control techniques of above activities including export products certification (GLP, ISO 9001, ISO 17025 etc);
• Experience in operating, calibrating, and maintaining state of the art of various laboratory equipment’s, preferable referred to testing area;
• Knowledge of local and international codes and regulations regarding plant operation activities
• Well-versed in the safety aspect of chemical usage in laboratory analysis of oil & gas;
• Good working knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), SAP, and Laboratory Inventory Control software.
• Preferable Heath & Hygiene background or experience.
